The Potter’s House Christian Fellowship
Statement of Faith

We of the Christian Fellowship Church, in harmony with our historic position, believe in the whole Bible and base our practice of faith on nothing but the Bible. Knowing it is our responsibility to make known the divine, infallible Word of God, we present the following statement of basic truths from the Bible which are in sync with our Christian faith practice.

We Believe:

  • In the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments as the only infallible, eternal and inspired Word originally given by God. It is the only source of doctrine, instruction and guidance for proper Christian conduct.

  • There is one true God existing eternally as three person: Father, Son and The Holy Spirit.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ pre-existed with the Father and Holy Spirit, but left heaven and became incarnate by the birth of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, rose from the dead on the third day and ascended back into heaven, which paid the penalty of sin throughout the whole world.

  • The Holy Spirit was given to the Church in fullness at Pentecost to act as the intercessor for Jesus Christ. He guides people to the truth, conforms the saints to the image of Christ and empowers the saints for service.

  • In the Baptism of the Hole Spirit, subsequent to conversion, provides evidence of speaking in tongues and the fruit of the Holy Spirit, that empowers one’s life.

  • That man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin resulting in spiritual and physical death but can only be corrected by salvation through Jesus Christ.

  • That eternal salvation is a free gift from God, based on the death and resurrection of His Son, personal repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus.

  • In the personal, visible and forthcoming return of Jesus Christ to remove His Church from the earth and the final judgement that will determine the eternal status of both the saints and the unbelievers, based on their relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • The Christian life is to be of righteousness, good works and devotion to God by separating away from the evil kingdom on earth. The Christian life is filled with trials, tests and warfare against the spiritual enemy and any shortcomings of an individual are part of the continual sanctification process of God. Those who continually abide in Christ until their death, or His return, will inherit God’s promise of eternal life.

  • The Church is the body and bride of Christ, comprised of true born again believers, with the purpose of worship, edification of believers and world wide gospel witness, Each local church is autonomous, but cooperating as a whole with a larger, worldwide fellowship.

  • A Christian should observe the ordinances of Christ which are Baptism, a public testimony of what God has already done in an individual’s life and participation in the communion of the Lord’s Supper as a commemoration of the death of Jesus Christ.

  • In the personality and existence of Satan, who is the great adversary of God and His people, and in Satan’s judgement and final doom.

  • That marriage is an institution ordained by God, from the foundation of the earth, intended as a lifelong union of one man and one woman.
